Where's Waldo?   lol  (Where's Kare Bear Running?)

MY FIRST

  • 1st   Race was a 5 k with son-in-law Ryan at Sand Hallow,
  • 1st  Half marathon I ran alone in St. George.
  • 1st  Ragnar with Hubby Garret, daughter-in-law Cari, daughter Laura & Ryan, Brittney & Jj & 6 others.
  • 1st  Marathon I was trained by daughter Laura and she ran it with me.  THANK YOU!
  • 1st. Ultra 32.6 miles I ran my own pace but Brittney ran it also.  Laura, Ryan, Brittney & Jj ran it a yr. before
  • 1st  Red Rock a group of kids needed a runner so I was a fill in... GREAT EXPERIENCE fun group.
  • 1st  BEST RUN was 2nd Marathon I ran alone (BEST TIME) 4h 54 min. YEAH under 5 hrs.
  • 3rd Marathon my daughter ran in the Marathon but I ran my own pace.5h 7 min DANG! but OK with it. The Poulsen's (my daughter's in-laws) ran the Marathon together pushing Chris Poulsen their mom who has MS  I always wanted to run with her.  It was AWESOME!
  • 2nd  Half Marathon was at Ruby's in.  CRAZY story... I rented a room at Cannonville, UT 13 miles from Ruby's Inn.  My alarm didn't go off.  I woke up got dressed jumped in my little red Miata and zoomed past cops up the hill to Start line.  A Policeman call the start line informed them I was on my way up.  They held up the race for me.  I parked at front of line. got out they shot the GUN and the race began.... Boy was I lucky... it was a beautiful day cloud cover WHEW  HaPpY I made it.

I run with sports asthma and it SUCKS!  I really have a hard time breathing up hills especially.  My breathing is stressed all the time. I can barely keep a conversation going.  I didn't use to have it.  I remember the days when Laura started running I could run ahead of her.  I would love those days back but I am thankful I can run, for my determination, drive and will to run.  I feel so much better when I run and truly believe it helps the endorphins kick in.

  1. I remember your first race. You were soo hard on yourself and you did so good! Glad to see that has changed. I am always amazed running with you that you do so well with how labored your breathing is. Thanks for being an example to me and being a main force in getting me running!
